The exhibition also serves as a tribute to the lifelong dedication of Dr. Gilbert and Jean Jackson, both esteemed alumni of the University of Maryland, who have devoted decades to the study and collection of expressive African objects. Additionally, in the back gallery, visitors will discover a thought-provoking exhibition of "Mother Molds" by contemporary artist Coralina Rodriguez Meyer (b. 1982), offering a modern perspective that beautifully complements the traditional African works on display.  African Art from the Dr. Gilbert and Jean Jackson Collection is organized by Director Taras W.
